The Coleman Glacier has the longest touring season in Washington state. It is the first place you can start skiing in the fall and the last place people ski quality snow in the summer. It is the big wide open glacier skiing you've dreamed of.
This day we meet in Glacier WA at 8:00 am, quick gear check and caravan 10 minutes to the trailhead. From here we access the upper mountain via Grouse Creek or Heliotrope Ridge trail depending on conditions. During times of lower elevation snow we hire snow mobiles to take us the four miles up the Glacier Creek road. Tyically we get about 4,000 feet of skiing some times more some times less. Expect a big day and lots of skiing the only regret is staying home.
